The 31-year-old, who has lived in London before, was returning to live in the UK on the day of the assault.
Punters at a pub in posh Westminster captured the battering on their mobile phones.
Mr Sobala told MyLondon: “I was going to meet some friends and went past the pub to ask directions because my phone was dead.

“These guys, I asked them for some help to find the station.
“Instead of them just saying, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you,’ they swore at me. Then they asked me where I was from, and I said ‘Poland’.”
Mr Sobala was then attacked. Footage shows a man in a grey suit jacket kneeling on him and punching him in the face, while another suited man looks on with his hands in his pockets.
The victim awoke in the hospital hours later.
