A WOMAN has been dubbed the ‘world’s luckiest woman’ after winning a whopping £123,500 with her first ever lottery ticket.
Rebecca Powell made a spur of the moment decision to buy a £3.37 ticket to enter the Power Play on Saturday, January 7, before bagging the huge £123k prize.
The lucky winner, from North Carolina, USA, checked her results hours after the draw had closed, and was shocked to see that she had won ‘a fortune’.

The ticket matched numbers on four white balls and the red Powerball to win £41,100 but Rebecca’s prize tripled after the 3X Power Play multiplier hit.
Rebecca, 48, told the North Carolina Education Lottery: “I thought I’d just give it a try. The lady at the store told me, ‘you truly have beginner’s luck’.
“It’s like a dream. Except I haven’t been able to sleep.
“When they did the Powerball drawing, I was looking at the numbers and then I screamed at my husband. I said, ‘Oh my God we won.’”

Rebecca plans to splash the cash on a new car and invest what is left in a new home after taking home a total of £87,890 after taxes.
Another North Carolina woman, Ronda Isaac, also won the same prize on the same day.
She said: “I never would ever think I would win something like this. I’m going to make this count”.
This comes after a woman from British Columbia, Canada, won £3 million in the December 21 Classic Jackpot draw, after originally believing she had only won £3,000.

Geraldine told British Columbia Lottery Corporation officials: “It’s unbelievable. I feel very blessed and grateful.
“My new year’s resolution was to have more fun than last year and I think I will be able to achieve that now!”
